SUNDAY, JANUARY 27:
CONSTRUCTING A WRITING LIFE

RACHEL SIMON will discuss her twenty years of surviving the writer's life, and will offer tips to writers wishing to do the same. Rachel Simon is an award-winning author and nationally-known public speaker. She is best known for her critically- acclaimed bestselling memoir Riding the Bus with My Sister, which was adapted for a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie directed by Anjelica Huston. She has also authored the forthcoming Building a House with My Husband.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17:
CHILDREN'S WRITING WORKSHOP

SUSAN GUILL will run this lively workshop for kids aged 7-12. Bring writing pad, paper and a noggin full of words. Younger writers may be separated into a group taught by Sean Toner. Susan Guill is an adjunct English professor at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, teaches at Main Line School Night and is a humor columnist for The Main Line
Times where she makes light of family foibles, current culture, and the
stereotypes of suburbia.

SUNDAY, MARCH 9:
THE PASSION AND THE DISCIPLINE

Passion and discipline—it takes both. Join accomplished writer and frequent television guest ROBERT DUNBAR for an irreverent and decidedly tongue-in-cheek discussion of the literary life. Rob Dunbar is the author of the novels The Pines and The Shore as well as the forthcoming short story collection Martyrs & Monsters. He has also appeared on NPR, ABC, the History Channel, and local channels.

SUNDAY, APRIL 6:
THOSE CRITICAL FIRST PAGES

Books are sold by their beginnings. Book editor KATHRYN CRAFT will show examples and run exercises on writing great openings. Kathryn Craft is the founder of writing-partner.com, a manuscript evaluation and editing service. She has been a two-term president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. She has contributed hundreds of articles to newspapers in the Greater Philadelphia area and has completed her second novel.
